The Single File - UK Box Set

The UK Single File box set contains all of Kate's 7" singles from 1978 to 1983 - a total of 13 singles in all. All the singles come housed in this ivy inspired box. Kate's name and the title of the box set are written in gold letters in two places only on the box - the front and the right-hand spine side.

There were actually two versions of this box set issued. The first run had limited edition numbers stamped onto the inside of the booklet. Second run box sets don't have a limited edition number anywhere. Further down I'll be showing you where you can find the limited edition number.

The box set also comes with a booklet, which contains the lyrics to all the singles and b-sides featured in this set, with the exception of any lyrics for Dreamtime. There are also a few photographs throughout the booklet.

If you take a look at the inside first page of the booklet, I have circled the upper left-hand corner area in white. This is where the limited edition number is located on first run box sets. I do have one with the limited edition number, but I have no idea where I've poked it at the moment, so this one will have to suffice.

Inside the box is also this fortune cookie sized piece of paper alerting you to photograph credit corrections as the book features errors.

This box set is one of the more harder ones to come by these days, and I've seen them sell for staggering amounts of money. I actually find this quite incredible considering that the singles in this box set are all reissues, with the exception of There Goes a Tenner and Ne T'enfuis Pas. Reissue sleeves and vinyl records do vary in specific ways from first issue vinyl releases. I've already created posts on here for all of these singles, so instead of me rehashing everything here again, I'll simply place links for each single:

Ne T'enfuis Pas only ever got a UK first issue release through The Single File box set, and was never sold separately.

If you're searching for this box set on the internet, and you're specifically after the limited edition numbered version be prepared to pay a lot more money for it. It's more expensive than the unnumbered ones as less were made. Also keep in mind that the limited edition number (or the lack of one) is the only difference between both versions.
